Manansala at top of WRHS Class of 2019
Weston Ranch

STOCKTON — The last four years at Weston Ranch High seems like a blur for Renny Manansala and Ezequiel Contreras Martinez.

They’re the valedictorian and salutatorian, respectively, for the Class of 2019.

“We’re really looking forward to graduation,” said Contreras Martinez on Monday.

He and Manansala achieved that honorable distinction based on their outstanding work in the classroom.

With work currently taking place in overhauling of the stadium, Weston Ranch will celebrate graduation at the Stockton Arena.

Both are bittersweet on this change of venue.

“It would have been nice to end high school where it all started,” said Manansala. “We kind of lose that connection (with the Stockton Arena).”

She’s the daughter of Rowena and Richard Manansala.

Academically, Renny Manansala finished at the top of her class with a 4.29 grade point average.

She was involved in soccer, Key Club, Deca, CSF, Filipino Club and MeChA.

Manansala will be attending UC Berkeley following graduation, majoring in Integrated Biology.

Contreras Martinez was involved in soccer, Key Club, Deca, CSF, and MeChA. He also ran track and cross country.

He’s the son of Maria Martinez and Gerardo Contreras.

As for his plans, Contreras Martinez is bound for UC Santa Barbara, where he’ll study Physics.
