The Manteca Fire Department is conducting an open house Saturday, Sept. 16,  from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Station 4 at 1465 Lathrop Road just west of Union Road.

The free event will include a number of children’s activities, face painting, and bounce houses.

The day will also include several demonstrations.

Information on volunteer opportunities as well as how to keep your home safe will be available.

Fire Chief Dave Marques said the event is designed to help the community get to know the firefighters that help protect their community.
