Communities are gearing up for National Night Out on Aug. 1.
The event held each year on the first Tuesday of August will again involve those in Manteca, Lathrop, and Ripon.
NNO, celebrating 40 years, promotes the “partnerships between police and community members to make our neighborhoods safer and a more caring place to live,” according to the City of Manteca’s Recreation & Community Services.
In Manteca, NNO allows for the various neighborhoods to host block parties and cookouts from 6 :30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
Applications to “Host a Party in Your Neighborhood” are currently available. All registrations for parties must be turned in no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, July 20.

Police along with the City of Lathrop elected leaders and staff, and the Lathrop-Manteca Fire District personnel will be making stops at the various block parties from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
For residents, NNO will provide a great opportunity to meet or become better acquainted with those in public safety.

The completed form must be turned in by Friday, July 21.
