Manteca opening cooling center for the next 3 days`

The forecast for today calls for temperatures to reach 103 degrees.

Then on Wednesday the National Weather Service warns the high could reach 104 degrees with Thursday topping out at 101 degrees before temperatures drop into the high 90s on Friday.

.For those looking for relief from the heat, the Manteca Senior Center at 295 Cherry Lane will serve as the Manteca Cooling Center for the next few days.

Activation of the Cooling Center is subject to change as weather conditions change, according to City of Manteca-Local Government via social media.

“The Cooling Center has been opened to help Manteca residents stay cool during potentially danger hot weather. If you know anyone who needs shelter from the heat, please relay this information,” said Monday’s post.

Hours for the Cooling Center is from. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Bottled water will also be available.

The City of Manteca will continue to monitor the weather and open the shelter on an as-needed basis.
