The Manteca Police Department have arrested a second person in connection with a murder earlier this week in Woodward Park on the 800 block of Mono St.

Troy Lewis, 21, of Manteca, was taken into custody on Thursday by a Manteca Police Department SWAT team at a residence where he believed to be staying after a judge signed a warrant for his arrest.

Manteca Police Detectives had reason to believe that Lewis was concealing evidence of the crime, and sought to arrest him on aiding and abetting – the second person police have taken into custody since gunfire following a dispute left one adult male dead.

He was arrested without incident. A search of the home revealed evidence that police say is pertinent to the case.

Lewis was booked into the San Joaquin County Jail on charges of accessory and was being held on $25,000 bail as of Monday evening.

On Tuesday, Manteca Police announced that they had arrested a person of interest that they believe to be the main suspect in the shooting after they stopped an individual that fit the description of somebody involved on the day of the shooting.

Marquis L. Williams, 21, is still in custody at the San Joaquin County Jail where he is being held without bail on a charge of murder. He isn’t scheduled to appear in court again until June 21.  Lewis is scheduled to appear in the Manteca branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court on Monday, June 12.

The investigation into the murder is still ongoing, and anyone with information about the incident or who may have been involved is encouraged to contact Manteca Police Detective Garret Morrison at 209.456.8212 or email him at gmorrison@manteca.gov.
