Brinton McCusker was honored twice at Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

The former Planning Commissioner was recognized with a proclamation – a show of appreciation for his commitment to improve all areas of the community – from the City.

Elected leaders honored McCusker for his “dedication and distinction” of serving on the appointed position for the past eight years.

“Sitting on the Planning Commission is an important but inglorious position,” said Mayor Leo Zuber, who praised McCusker for always being prepared when handling new businesses and construction in town.

He chose not to run for a third term. Mike Garcia, who was an alternate, took his place, being administered the oath of office by City Clerk Lisa Roos at last month’s Planning Commission meeting.

McCusker was honored for his outstanding contributions to the community and for maintaining the highest standards of excellence both personally and professionally while providing an example for others to follow.

He also received special recognition for distinguished services from the office of Heath Flora.

Field representative Jason Laughlin was on hand to present McCusker with the certificate.
