Mitzi Johnston is retiring.

“This is her last meeting,” said Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart at last Monday’s session of the Ripon Planning Commission.

Johnston has been with the City of Ripon for the past 22 years. She’s stepping down as the Planning Department Secretary at the end of the month.

Shelby DeHaven, who started out as a receptionist before becoming the Building Department secretary, will move to the Planning Department, stepping into Johnston’s position as secretary.

Planning Commission Chairman James West thanked Johnston for her service to the City and welcomed DeHaven.

Commissioner Dave Collins also thanked Johnston, in particular, for her service and structure in the Planning Department during her time here.
