The Ripon Planning Commission will meet tonight to discuss another chain restaurant coming to town.

Panda Express is a fast-casual restaurant serving American Chinese cuisine with over 2,000 locations including two in Manteca.

Commissioners will conduct a major site review for construction of the 2,600 square foot place with inside and drive-thru dining options during the 6 p.m. public hearing in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Planning Director Ken Zuidervaart indicated at the recent Ripon City Council that this project will be located at 1422 W. Colony Road, near the Jack in The Box and Carl Jr. restaurants  just off Highway 99.

The site is about 1.15 acres in the Highway Service district.

A negative declaration is needed for this project.

In other agenda items:

• Commissioners will conduct review development agreements for Calvary Reformed Church, Gil Plaza, Cornerstone II, Orchard View, Alexandra Place, Silverstone, Ripon Gardens II, The Vineyards, Meadowood and Meadowbrook to determine whether or not the proponents have complied in good faith to terms and conditions of their individual agreements.
• They also conduct a public hearing on the zoning text amendment on the dimension regulations relating to setbacks for accessory structures, patio covers and other covered structures.
