The final pieces of the Stouffer Field renovations have been set in motion for the construction of the ticket booth and restrooms.

On Monday, the Ripon Unified school board awarded the construction service agreement with CT Brayton & Sons for the Ripon High Bathrooms/Bleachers Reconstruction Project.

"CT Brayton was one picked by the (Proposal Evaluation) Committee," said Andy Strickland, who is the Director of Maintenance and Operations.

The Escalon-based contractors were also provided with the pre-construction lease-leaseback for the reconstruction project.

RUSD, in this case, will lease the site that it owns to the contractor, who, in turn, will handle the improvements before leasing the project and the underlying site back to the district.

The Pre-Construction Services Agreement includes the previously approved Request for Proposals to CT Brayton & Sons to not exceed $1.2 million.

The district will receive the Guaranteed Maximum Price once the pre-construction services are completed and subcontractors are selected by the contractor — the guaranteed maximum price will then be negotiated and finalized for the project.

Plans call for the new bathrooms to be part of the entrance to the stadium equipped with the ticket booth counters and bleachers for the visitors' side.

The Ripon Community Athletic Foundation under founding members Stephanie and Vince Hobbs — he's currently on the Ripon Unified school board — kicked off the efforts of renovating the stadium over 13 years ago.

Their grass-roots efforts will soon be completed.
