The Fulton Avenue and River Road intersection will be closed to traffic for 21 days to allow construction of a custom paver roadway and the installation of the first set of traffic signals on River Road.
The intersection work is taking place next to the north east part of the Park View School playground.  There was a three-way stop at the intersection on Wednesday.  The actual closure began today and will continue until the third week of June.
The east entrance to Mistlin Park will then be reopened for full access to the park, according to a Ripon city spokesman.  The park continually hosts both soccer and baseball tournaments throughout much of the year.  It is also the site of a water feature for the use of small children during the hot months of the summer and an elevator in the tower takes sports fans up to the upper floors of the tower where they can eat their lunches and watch the soccer and baseball and softball contests.
There is a snack shop on the ground floor of the tower.
