The Manteca Police Department is currently looking for a man that they believe is responsible for a shooting on Sunday in the parking lot of Big League Dreams that left an adult male in critical condition.

Cory Croslow, 42, of Stockton, is being sought by the Manteca Police Department in connection with the shooting. Several search warrants have been served in Manteca and Stockton, but Croslow’s whereabouts remain a mystery to investigators – who are in possession of a Ramey warrant for his arrest for attempted murder.

More than 24 hours after the incident occurred, the victim remains in an area hospital in critical condition.  

According to the agency, officers were dispatched to the park – which routinely hosts youth sports teams for tournaments – just before 3 p.m. on Sunday and discovered a victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Officers immediately began life saving measures, and EMS personnel arrived a short time later and transported the victim to an area hospital.

While the cause of the incident that led to the shooting was not released on Sunday, the Manteca Police have been vocal about the amount of illegally owned guns that they’ve been taking off the street in 2022. In the middle of March, the agency was averaging a recovery of a stolen or illegal firearm every other day – numbers that prompted the department to notify the public about the frequency at which patrol officers were recovering guns during traffic stops and other calls.

While officials are seeking the public’s help in locating Croslow, they encourage anybody who may see him to call 911 immediately and make no attempt to contact or detain him.
