With the recall election scheduled for next month, the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office announced Monday that a ballot drop box will be placed inside Ripon City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
The purpose for that is to make voting by mail more convenient for residents.
Ripon voters can decide if they want to replace Gov. Gavin Newsom or opt for one of the nearly four dozen candidates on the ballot as potential replacements.
The SJCROV ballot box is not to be confused with the utility drop box located outside city hall.
SJCROV provided several tips for those who plan to use the mail drop box, including to:
*Make sure outside of the envelope is signed.
*Voting by mail ballots can be placed inside of City Hall in the drop box, from Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from now until Election Day on Sept. 14.
*Folks can drop-off mail ballots on behalf of other voters with their permission.
