The Ripon City Council will look to pave the way for future growth at Ripon Christian Schools at today’s 6 p.m. session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
Those are the properties at 552 N. Wilma Ave. (currently zoned for Single Family Residential) and 456 Maple Ave. (Single Family Residential Urban Core).
The two properties will have to be rezoned for Public-Semipublic. Approval of the first reading and introduction of the ordinance rezoning will be necessary by elected leaders in going forward.
A public hearing is also scheduled on the request to amend the General Plan Land Use designation and zoning classification of those same two parcels.
The Ripon Planning Commission recently approved the RC Greenhouse and Campus Maintenance Facility Project.
Plans call for the removal of the existing bus parking shed along with associated shop building adjacent to the industrial arts / agriculture building, and constructing a new 30-by-36-foot greenhouse for the ag department and a 40-by-100-foot metal shop building with a 12-by-12-foot office for a campus maintenance facility.
Last summer, RC got the OK for the off-campus bus storage and maintenance facility on the other side of Highway 99 along the Frontage Road, in turn, helping make room for the greenhouse and campus maintenance facility plans.
In other agenda items:
· A public hearing is scheduled to set the amount and give approval of the levy of the annual assessment for the City of Ripon Lighting District.
· A public hearing will be held for the City of Ripon’s 10 Landscape Maintenance Districts, specifically, to set the amount and give approval of the levy of the annual assessments.
· A public hearing is set to consider an amendment to Title 16 on the chapters relating to allowing recreational vehicle storage in the heavy industrial district.
