The City of Ripon issued a correction on the state mandated changes to the watering schedule.
Effective immediately, there will be no watering on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.
This is in response to Gov. Newsom’s Executive Order N-7-22 regarding outdoor watering regulations amid the statewide severe drought conditions.
The Ripon City Council approved resolution on June 9, ordering Mandatory Water Conservation Measures with the condition that staff come back before council with more information. Until then, enforcement of penalties on this resolution – for the exception of the days a week outdoor watering regulation – will not be enforced.
The two-day watering schedule during the months of March through October will allow for all properties within the City of Ripon with an even address to do water of landscaping on Tuesday and Saturday.
Those under with an odd address – same time frame and within the city – can water only on Tuesday and Saturday.
In addition, no watering is allowed to take place between the hours of 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Penalties for those following the watering schedule will first begin with a written warning.
After that, the fines will then kick in for first time violators ($50 within a one-year period), doubling to $100 for a second such violation during the same one-year period.
