Every Student Succeeding Award is a recognition program of the Association of California School Administrators.

Honored are students who have succeeded against all odds, beyond expectations or simply won the hearts of administrators and others who helped them achieve their goals, according to ACSA.

Among this year’s recipients are Cody Raichel of Harvest High and Yajaira Quintero Martinez of Ripon High.

They’re scheduled to be honored at Monday’s Ripon Unified school board meeting.

Superintendent Ziggy Robeson is scheduled to introduce Raichel and Martinez during the 7 p.m. open session at the Ripon City Hall Council Chamber, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Robeson will also pay recognition to RHS student Ashley La Page for her work as illustrator of the children’s book “Willie’s Wheelchair.”

In other agenda items:

Ripona Elementary School Principal Gregg Elliott will lead a presentation of what’s going on at his campus.

Director of Curriculum and Categorical Programs Kathy Coleman will speak on the adoption process of the new science materials from Next Generation Science Standards.

Chief Operations Officer Frank Jerome will provide the Second Interim Report for the 2018-19 school year, highlighting RUSD with a Positive Certification, an indication that the district will be able to meet its financial obligations for the remainder of this year as well as the next two.
