Helps Ripon Interfaith Ministries effort

The Ripon Rotary Club received a nice donation on Thursday.

Reijer Groenveld, who is the Financial Advisor for Edward Jones in Tracy, dropped off about 20 gently used or new coats for the ongoing Christmas Coat Drive barrel at IMS Lending.

Rotarian Annette Roddan, who is the branch manager of the Ripon mortgage loan company, was grateful for the array of coats that will later be forwarded to the Ripon Interfaith Ministries.

“We’ll be collecting coats up until right before Christmas,” she said.

As for the coats?

“They’ll stay local,” Roddan said.

By that, Interfaith Ministries at 816 W. Main St. services the community.

“It’s a store where each family can come in once a month and pick up any five items (of clothes),” Roddan said.

Needed are children’s coats.

Donations can be dropped off at the Ripon Rotary coat barrels located at IMS Lending (467 N. Wilma Ave. Suite 1), Schemper’s Ace Hardware (150 N. Wilma Ave.) or Bank of Stockton (234 W. Main St.) during business hours.

Thus far, Ripon Rotary has collected about 60 coats since the start of the donation drive, according to Roddan.
