The Ripon City Council will reappoint members of the Planning Commission and Parks & Recreation Commission with expiring terms tonight.
During the 6 o’clock monthly session at City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave., elected leaders will tack on four more years to the seats occupied by current Chairperson Debra Van Essen and James West, respectively Seat 4 and Seat 5 on the Planning Commission.
They’re also scheduled to reappoint alternate Seat 6 belonging to Jeff Veilleux, who has expressed an interest of re-upping for another four years.
According to www.cityofripon.org, the purpose of the Planning Commission is to review projects and developments relating to planning or zoning issues. Commissioners, who usually meet on the following Monday after the City Council sessions, will forward many of their recommendations to Council for consideration.
Council members will also reappoint Steve McPeak (Seat 3), James Schuller (Seat 4) and Bryce Perkins (Seat 5) to serve another four years on the Parks & Recreation Commission.
This appointed group acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council, Recreation Director and staff in all matters pertaining to parks and recreation in the City of Ripon.
Members of the Parks & Recreation Commission often meet on second Wednesday of each month in the City Hall main conference room beginning at 6 p.m.
