Main Street Day Fair is one of the big events for the Ripon Chamber of Commerce.

Some 5,000 are expected to converge on downtown for the 34th annual street fair located in the historic downtown on Saturday, Oct. 19, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“There will be something for the entire family,” said Chamber President / CEO Kelly Donohue.

Attractions include the big car show (day-of entries will be accepted) sponsored by One Church along with 75 vendors (Chamber will still accept applications even though all the vendor spots are filled, according to Donohue), antiques, arts, crafts, great food, and a beer garden featuring mimosas as hosted by the Ripon Quarterback Club.

The latter is the newest attraction to Main Street Day, Donohue said.

Youngsters can enjoy rides and other fun activities in the Kids Zone. A petting zoo made possible by the Ripon High FFA is also part of the mix.

Magpie Antiques & All Things Inspiring at 140 S. Walnut Ave. will anchor Antique Alley.

In addition, Main Street Day will have available a health fair.

The Chamber and the Ripon Unified School District are partnering up for the second annual Family Fun Color Run scheduled earlier in the day at Ripon High, 301 N. Acacia Ave.

Beginning at 8 a.m., those entered in this one-mile walk or run receive a commemorative race shirt. Proceeds will benefit RUSD’s PFC.

The Pancake Breakfast held at Ripon Consolidation Fire District Station No. 1, 142 S. Stockton Ave., is yet another staple of Main Street Day.

Breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. at the fire house. Pre-sale tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for children age 7-12 (age 6 and under are free).

Cost during Main Street Day is $10 for adults and $6 for children.
