Ripon High recently expanded its curriculum.
Trustees of the Ripon Unified School District approved several textbooks to go with the start-up Sports Medicine class for the 2020-2021 school year.
"That's another option for our students," said board member Kit Oase at last Tuesday's special session.
According to Kathy Coleman, who is the Director of Curriculum and Categorical Programs, administration and team, in reviewing the curriculum, recommended using the terminology textbook along with two other books.
The curriculum is intended to expose students not only to the duties and responsibilities of an athletic trainer, but other opportunities as well in healthcare-related fields.
The local school board did its part by approving 'Medical Terminology for Health Professions -- 8th Edition,' 'Sports Medicine Essentials Core Concepts Athletic Training -- 3rd Edition,' and 'Introduction to Sports Medicine & Athletic Training -- 3rd Edition."
