At last month’s meeting, the Ripon City Council honored the fall sports championship programs at Ripon High.
They’ll do likewise on Tuesday, acknowledging the 2022 Athletic Accomplishments at Ripon Christian High – notably, football, volleyball, and cross country.
The RC girls in volleyball were this year’s big winners in capturing the Division IV state championship. The Knights finished 35-6, winning the program’s 18th CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division V crown.
The RC football team had the honor of taking home the Sac-Joaquin Section VII championship, finishing the season with an 11-3 mark while recently being named the San Joaquin Section Academic Champions with a collective 3.53 grade point average.
RC girls’ cross country claimed the Southern League championship and was named SJS Section Academic Champs by posting an impressive overall 3.98 GPA.
Mayor Michael Restuccia is scheduled to present the City of Ripon proclamation to the RC group during the 6 p.m. open session in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
In other agenda items:
- Elected leaders will also honor the Ripon Chamber of Commerce with a proclamation in celebration its centennial birthday. The Chamber will also serve as grand marshal at the upcoming Almond Blossom Festival parade and activities.
