Work on Well 19 Pump Station by Soracco Inc. continued with relocating and replacing of some old pipes.

The Well 19 Pump Station will soon be incorporated into the City of Ripon’s potable water system.

Once connected, this new domestic water well is expected to produce between 1,200 to 2,000 gallons per minutes while providing water to the entire city.

Work continued on the project located at 1201 W. Ripon Rd. with the recent update calling for demolition of an existing 10-inch irrigation line which, according to Senior Civil Engineer Sarah Collins, was discovered during construction work by Soracco Inc.

The Lodi-based general engineering and building contractor was awarded the bid for the Well 19 Pump Project in September.

“This project included relocating an 8-inch irrigation line on site that would be in conflict with other utilities and infrastructure,” said Collins in her Ripon City Council meeting report for Jan. 11.

she added that staff requested to relocate the pipe and to remove the old 10-inch pipe, replacing it with one at the same size.

No discussion was necessary as elected leaders approved the change order in amount of $8,865 paid via the Water Enterprise Capital Fund.

Soracco Inc. also handled the first phase of the Well 19 project consisting of construction, development and testing of the water well at Mistlin Sports Park.
