RIPON RACES
Restuccia, Uekcer file papers for Ripon council seats
RUSD1

Mayor Michael Restuccia and Councilman Dean Uecker are seeking re-election.

The two incumbents pulled filing papers last week at Ripon City Hall and were again deemed qualified candidates for Ripon City Council by the San Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office in Stockton.

That’s according to City Clerk Lisa Roos, who added that the last day for challengers to file in time to get their names on the Nov. 6 ballot is Thursday, Aug. 9, at Ripon City Hall, 259 N. Wilma Ave., during business hours.

SJC Registrar of Voters initially indicated that Aug. 10 as the filing deadline. However, Ripon City Hall is closed on Fridays – operating hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Not much has change in the Ripon Unified school board race.

Board President Chad Huskey and Vice President Christopher ‘Kit’ Oase are on the ballot along with newcomer Annette Vande Pol.

Vande Pol is listed as a candidate for the Trustee Area 2 seat currently occupied by Trustee Ernie Tyhurst, who announced he was stepping down at the end of his term.

Any additional school board candidates must reside in Trustee Area 1 (Huskey), Trustee Area 2 (Tyhurst) or Trustee Area 3 (Oase). Click on to www.riponusd.net for Trustee Area map.

In the Ripon Consolidated Fire District, Bryce Perkins and Harrison Gibbs, both incumbents, are the current candidates listed, according to www.sjcrov.org.
