Water usage for the City of Ripon was recently slashed by 20 percent.

Public Works Director James Pease provided that information at Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting, using the pre-drought 2013 water level numbers for the May comparison.

Those last month’s figures were up 8 percent compared to that of May 2024.

Residents and businesses within city limits continue to operate on three-days a week watering schedule throughout the summer.

All properties with “odd” numbered addresses can do their watering on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays while those “even” ending numbered addresses to do likewise to their landscape on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

No watering is allowed on Mondays and anytime between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m.

It is also prohibited to hose down driveways, sidewalks, patios, parking lots, aprons, and other exteriors surfaces for the exception of sanitation, public health and safety, and fire protection purposes.
