Melinda Kopp will be honored at Wednesday’s Ripon Unified school board.
She’s retiring after 39 years of working as a librarian. Kopp, who has been the Branch Librarian at the Ripon Memorial Library since 1999, will be recognized for her years of service to RUSD students, families, and staff at the 7 p.m. meeting in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
She’s served the Stockton San Joaquin County Public Library System for 23 years after kicking off her career with the Boston Public Library in 1984.
RUSD Superintendent Ziggy Robeson is scheduled to pay recognition to Kopp during the opening session.
In other agenda items:
· A public hearing will take place on the district’s 2023-2024 proposed budget and excess general fund reserves, including a review of reserves, in compliance with the state educational code.
· Director of Curriculum & Instruction Kathy Coleman will present an overview of the Local Control and Accountability Plan – or LCAP, a tool for local educational agencies to set goals, plan actions, and leverage resources to meet those goals to improve student outcomes – along with year three of the thee-year plan.
· Andy Strickland, Director of Maintenance & Operation, will share his update on facilities, including plans for the Agricultural Technology Center at Ripon High, the new building at Ripon Elementary, and the completed north parking lot at RHS. In addition, a new HVAC system was just installed at the RHS North Gym.
