The Ripon City Council will conduct its monthly session at 6 p.m. tonight in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.

Elected leaders, during that time, could give the OK for Mayor Dean Uecker to sign off on the Measure K Cooperative Agreement with the San Joaquin Council of Governments in order to receive a reimbursement for the Ripon Safe Routes to School Improvement Project via the Smart Growth Incentive Program.

The latter is the funding category of the Local Transportation Improvement Plan.

The Safe Routes to School Improvement Project, in conjunction with parts of the Downtown Circulation Study Streetscape Improvement Master Plan – approved July 13 – calls for upgrading several roadways in town including bikeway signages or painted lanes.

Among those designated bikeways include the stretch along Second Street, between South Wilma Avenue to Palm Avenue, and from Palm to South Stockton Avenue; North and South Acacia Avenue, from Doak Boulevard to the overcrossing at Highway 99; Prospect Avenue, with the installation of Class III bikeways as well as a crossing upgrade at the Frontage Road intersection; and Ripona Avenue, featuring the installation of Class II bikeways from Milgeo Avenue to California Street.

Other agenda items seeking consist of:

·         The Project Improvement Agreement associated with the Parallel Avenue between JKB Living, Inc. and the City of Ripon.

·         The Stockton Avenue Rehabilitation Project change order needed for additional concrete driveway work.

·         The training donation of $ 2,085 from Rick and Valerie Van Unen for the Ripon Police Department to attend the wellness training from Dr. Gilmartin.
