For two years, William "Bill" Draa served as superintendent of the Ripon Unified School District.
He was initially hired on an interim basis to replace Louise Nan, who moved for family reasons. Measure G had just passed and Draa, who had retired as the top administrator for the Banta School District, came aboard to help provide a much-needed boost.
Draa, who was later hired full-time, passed away last month. He'll always be remembered for his services and dedication to RUSD.
Trustees will honor Draa at Monday's meeting inside the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
During the 7 p.m., they'll have a moment of silence in his memory.
The agenda will also include:
- Acknowledgement of First High School Apprenticeship Program in the state as presented by Superintendent Ziggy Robeson. She'll speak on the 2020-21 reopening plan for in-person learning as well.
- Distance Learning Expectations for seventh, eighth and high school classroom by Director of Curriculum & Categorical Programs Kathy Coleman.
- Director of Facilities, Operations & Safety Services Andy Strickland and CFO Frank Jerome will talk about the Construction Services Agreement with C.T. Brayton & Sons, Inc. on the Ripon High School Bathrooms/Bleachers Reconstruction Project.
