The Ripon Unified school board on Monday will recognize students who recently competed in the 24th annual San Joaquin Spelling Bee.
Included are Caitlin Mooney (sixth grade, Weston School), Samantha Wall (sixth grade, Ripon Elementary), and Mia Focaracci (fourth grade, Colony Oak) in the Elementary Division.
In the Junior High Division, RUSD had Alex Avarello (eighth grade, Park View), Harvey Keene Dykes (eighth grade, Ripona) and Beauross Yan (seventh grade, Ripon Elementary) were involved in the second day of last month’s competition held at the San Joaquin County Office of Education building, Wentworth Education Center.
The RUSD board meeting will take place in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave., beginning at 7 p.m.
In other agenda items:
· Board members will provide special recognition honors to the Trans-Valley League Defensive Player of the Year and Outstanding Defensive Back.
· They’ll look to approve both the RUSD Emergency Response Plans and the board resolution pertaining to the Reapportionment of the Trustee Area boundaries within the district.
· Trustees, in addition, could approve the agreement between RUSD and the local California School Employee Association on the new Juneteenth national holiday, and the tentative agreement with CSEA and RUSD for the Classified School Employees Summer Assistance Program.
