Veterans Day is Monday.

The Ripon Unified school board recognized 10 employees who served their country at this past Monday’s meeting.

“We want to thank you for serving our country and school district,” Superintendent Ziggy Robeson said.

Of that, two were from the Junior Reserve Officers Training Corp at Ripon High – Lt. Col. US Army (retired) David Schmith and Sgt. 1st Class US Army (retired) Robert Randell.

Business / Computer instructor Gary Dias, English teacher Alisha Vasche and custodian Jeffery Hessler were also honored from RHS.

From the RUSD district office were Chief Financial Officer Frank Jerome, who served in the US Navy, and Brendan Rudd while seventh-grade teacher Ken Tyhurst, who served in the US Air Force, and Tier 3 Learning Center teacher Mark Redding were among those recognized from Colony Oak Elementary School.

Larry Moreno, who is the day custodian at Ripon Elementary School, was also recognized for serving his country.
