Andy Strickland, who is the Director of Operations for the Ripon Unified School District, is scheduled to give an update on the nearly completed construction of the Career Technical Education building at Ripon High at Monday’s board meeting.
The 7 p.m. open session will take place in the City of Ripon Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
Strickland will provide information on the latest development of the new two-story structure, which will accommodate a number of career pathway courses once completed.
Included in his September Facilities Report is the recently installed multi-directional hoist.
The CTE building will be home to classes such as ag science, ag business, diesel mechanics, software & systems, and patient care, just to name a few.
CT Brayton & Sons Construction has been spearheading this project on the two-story structure near the existing Ag buildings. Construction on the CTE Center began in November 2022.
Strickland, in addition, will talk about recently receiving the “Golden Ticket” for the purchase of four new EV (electric vehicle) buses – he met with the bus manufacturer and PG&E to start the process.
In other agenda items:
· Trustees will recognize the Quarterback Club for continued support of sports and athletics in the school district. Mike Shaw and Dan Gall are scheduled to be on hand for the accepting of the Certificate of Appreciation.
· Principal Kathy Diederich will spearhead the presentation on Harvest High.
· A presentation on the Vocational Skills Lab will also take place with Special Education Coordinator Ann Seigel and Ripon High Assistant Principal J.J. Ramirez leading the way.
