Ripon water goes back to three days

February was a wet month.

Ted Johnston mentioned just that at Tuesday’s Ripon City Council meeting.

In particular, he was reporting on the conservation efforts by residents during the past month, using the water levels from 2013 as the base line as a measurement.

Folks in Ripon reduced their water usage by 36.6 percent, according to Johnston.

“It helped with all the rain we got (in February),” he said.

Johnston added: “We’ll continue to monitor the ground water as well.”

Water conservation continues in Ripon with a three-day watering schedule kicking off this month through October. Watering had been restricted to one day a week.

As usual, no watering is allowed between 10 a.m. through 6 p.m.

Properties within the City of Ripon with an even address are allowed to water landscaping on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

Those with an odd address can do likewise on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
