Self-storage will upgrade Reynolds Drive

The Ripon Parallel Self Storage will be more than just a 225-unit self-storage facility that runs adjacent to northbound Highway 99.

The recently-approved Project Improvement Agreement associated with the self-storage plan – a pact between JKB Living, Inc. and the City of Ripon – promises to spruce up this area along the industrial area of town.

That was part of the intent when the Planning Commission gave the green light for construction of the Parallel Avenue Self Storage back July, approving a major site review.

Besides cleaning up the Reynolds Drive easement, the project would provide asphalt paving, sidewalks, curbs and a Class II bike lane to the nearby bike / pedestrian bridge access point.

The PIA also calls for installing two handicap ramps and two streetlights, cape sealing, and undergrounding of utility lines across the project frontage.

The project is located at 700 S. Parallel Ave.

Parallel Avenue, along this stretch, will be a no-parking area with an eight-foot wall, jogging up to as high as  nine feet, on the south end, and – for neighbors – will serve as a “buffer” from the Highway 99 traffic noise.
