Three candidates have emerged in the Ripon Unified school board race.

According to the Ran Joaquin County Registrar of Voters office, Jason Winter, who is listed as a parent / business owner, was among the candidates for the Nov. 8 general election. He’s seeking the Trustee Area 1 seat occupied by Chad Huskey.

Tiffany Treece and Timothy O. Matthews are vying for Christopher ‘Kit’ Oase’s Trustee Area 3 post. Oase is seeking re-election, making it a three-candidate race.

Voters will be required to reside in that portion of the district consisting of both Ripona Elementary School and Colony Oak Elementary School, in the area east of Highway 99 from Milgeo Road, picking up from just west of North Ripon Road from Milgeo to River roads.

Incumbent Vince Hobbs in Trustee Area 2 remains unchallenged.

The election for Ripon City Council continues to be city-wide.

Candidate Tamra Dee Spade will seek on of the two four-year terms against incumbents Michael Restuccia and Dean Uecker.

She’s the CEO / President of the Tracy Chamber of Commerce, having held those same titles for the Ripon Chamber of Commerce.

Gary Barton, who is a provisional appointment – he’s looking to finish out the two years remaining on the seat once occupied by Tim Wheeler, who was elected to the City Council in 2020 but stepped down after moving his family to Montana – is lone candidate as of Friday seeking the short term.
