For 25 years, the Christmas tree lot currently at 1156 N. Union Road near Lathrop Road has been one of longest running seasonal businesses of its kind.
Coe’s Holiday Specialties continues to offer up fresh Oregon-grown trees ranging Noble fir, Douglas fir, and Nordmann fir, from table top to 14 footers at the familiar Manteca location.
“It seems as if the Christmas tree-selling season starts earlier and earlier each year,” said Daniel Coe, who along with his wife, Breanna, took over the tree lot about three years ago.
Coe’s Holiday Specialties opened during the week of Thanksgiving and, with Christmas nearing, has shown signs of slowing down as of Thursday.
“It’s been a good year,” said Daniel Coe, who still has plenty of stock including a few 11-foot trees.
He noted that some of the trees will be donated to shelters and other places with folks in need. And what’s left will be converted to mulch.
Coe has kept much of the same intact at the business that once belonged to his grandparents Rick and Julie Beck.
Included are items such as The Pie Shop Company’s frozen pies along with the decorated wreaths, cedar garlands, and last year’s add-on, Kettle corn, to name a few.
Coe’s Holiday Specialties – hours of operation are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., daily – will be open until the days leading up to Christmas.
