Van Essen, West & Garcia reappointed as Ripon planners

Several committee seats were recently appointed by the Ripon City Council.

Included were the Planning Commission and the Recreation Commission.

Debra Van Essen, James West and alternate Mike Garcia were each reappointed to four-year planning commission terms at the January monthly session.

Van Essen was voted to chair the Planning Commission.

City Clerk Lisa Roos administered the oath of office a few days later at the Planning Commission.

Garcia filled the vacancy left by Brinton McCusker, who was also recognized after serving the past eight years on this commission.

On the Recreation Commission, Steve McPeak, James Schuller and Bryce Perkins were reappointed to another four years.

Council, in addition, approved the appointments to the following:

Central Valley Division of League of California Cities / executive member – Dean Uecker, Mayor Leo Zuber (alternative).

San Joaquin County Council of Governments Executive Board – Zuber, Jake Parks (alternative).

SJ Integrated Solid Waste Management – Mike Restuccia, Uecker (alternative).

SJ Partnership – Parks, Uecker (alternative).

SJ Valley Air Pollution Control District City Selection Committee – Daniel de Graaf.

Legislative Response Committee – de Graaf, Restuccia (alternative).

Code Enforcement and Vehicle Abatement Committee – Zuber, Uecker (alternative), Chief of Police, Director of Public Works, City Attorney.

Housing and Loan Committee – Restuccia, Parks (alternate), City Administrator, City Clerk, Planning Director.

Economic Development Committee – de Graaf, Parks (alternative), Planning Director.

Budget Development Committee – Zuber, Restuccia, and all department heads and City Attorney.

Swimming Pool Operations Committee – Zuber, Parks (alternative), City Adminstrator, Parks and Recreation Director.

Golf Course Committee – Uecker, Scott Blevins (public member), City Administrator, Parks & Recreation Director.

Dog Park Committee – Uecker, de Graaf (alternative), City Administrator, Director of Public Works.

Two-by-Two Committee – Zuber, de Graaf, Ripon Unified, Chamber of Commerce, Ripon Christian Schools, Ripon Consolidated Fire District, City of Manteca.
