Chad Husky had one final act on his check list as board president of Ripon Unified School District.

He administered the oath of office Monday to Annette Vande Pol.

The newest board member ran unopposed for Trustee Area No. 2, taking over the seat held for the past 12 years by Ernie Tyhurst, who opted against re-election.

Husky, during the board’s annual organizational meeting, nominated Kit Oase as president.

Husky and Oase also ran unopposed at the recent elections.

Oase got the nod as board president while Caroline Hutto gladly accepted the post of vice president.

New board member Vande Pol was picked as clerk.

No surprise, Superintendent Ziggy Robeson was voted to continue in the honorable role of Secretary to the School Board.

She acknowledged Husky for his work as board president.

“It’s a lot of work and learn something new,” Robeson said of the role of board president. “With Mr. Husky, I had two years of learning from him.”
