Some 104 eighth-grade students at Veritas Elementary School were recognized Tuesday at the promotional event held in the multi-purpose building.
Principal Tracie Crawford, who has been top administrator at the Manteca Unified school site since its opening in 2005, welcomed family, friends and special guests such as Senior Director of Elementary Education Cheryl Meeker-Mau and board President Stephen Schluer — both were on hand for the distribution of the certificates of promotion.
Teacher Dennis Flemming and Hortencia Garcia provided the Presidential Awards (Academic Achievement, Academic Excellence) and, along with fellow teacher Marshall Cannon, announced the Character Awards.
