Ray of Hope is looking to spruce up the place.

Needed are people who can do some art work in the waiting room and The Kids Cupboard.

The latter is a food pantry designed to meet the basic needs of children who are living in homeless or insecure situations while lacking the proper nutrition.

“We are looking to make this facility into a positive place for children,” said Executive Director Laura Saunders, who is seeking those with some artistic talent to paint positive affirmations along with children’s theme and more on the walls.

Ray of Hope is located at 113 W. Yosemite Ave., Manteca.

“The need we fill is large but part of that need is providing a supportive environment that exudes hope, love and knowledge to these kids who matter in our community,” Saunders said.

Along with The Kids Cupboard, Ray of Hope includes Babies in Crisis and the Student Success programs.

“This is a very special place that does very special things for some of our neediest children in the community,” Saunders added. “We want this place to be visually welcoming as well.”
