Precision Automotive of Manteca has been partnering with the Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center for the past 14 years.

It’s all part of the Giving Tree program. Residents of the local care and rehab center have since jotted down their wish-list items on a holiday “bulb” placed on the Christmas tree in the lobby of Precision Automotive, 475 Moffat Blvd.

“We have our customers to thank,” said Raj Lal, who is the owner of Precision Automotive.

He took over the business about five years ago and maintained the holiday tradition from the previous owner.

For that, Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center is thankful.

Debbie Robles, who is the longtime activities director at the skilled-nursing facility located at 410 Eastwood Ave, said that gifts from the Giving Tree will go to residents during Christmas Eve. Prior to last year’s COVID-19 pandemic, Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center hosted a holiday gathering that also consisted of friends and family not to mention a visit from Santa Claus.

This year’s plan remains uncertain, according to Robles.

One thing for certain is that the Giving Tree is now available for those interested in being a Secret Santa by picking out a wish-list “bulb” for a resident in rehab.

Robles delivered 70 “bulbs” on Wednesday.

In addition, she said that Crossroads Grace Community Church and Mary Kay cosmetics are stepping up to help out residents at Manteca Care & Rehabilitation Center during the holidays.
