Zero K offers family fun at Orchard Valley

The ultimate family fun zone is coming.

The local tutorial program Give Every Child A Chance along with the Rotary Club of Manteca Morning, The Cajun Spot and Yes on Measure A Committee will be putting on “Zero K: Family Fun Without the Run” from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 26.

The event at The Promenade Shops, 1134 Lifestyle St., Manteca, will feature a start/finish line that quickly crosses into a special place with carnival-style games, food & merchandise vendors, and a raffle – all this to music by Efren Juarez and captured by Capture Culture Films.

“Zero K is family fun without the run,” said GECAC Program Director Oscar Munguia of the upcoming fundraiser.

He along with several local who’s who – Lori Little-Mowry, Sandy Del Mundo, Gary Singh, Charlie Halford, John Barrera, Shayla Johnson, and Jose Nuño – will be among the targets in the Pie in the Face booth.

The food vendors on tap for the event includes Alison’s Gourmet Brittle, Nana Bear’s Mini Donuts, Kona Ice, The Rock Pizza Oven, and Taco Fiesta & Catering.

The California Mercantile, Julie Lackey (custom signs), Krazy Basket, Tastefully Simple, Trending Nail Colors with Chrissy, About Face-Face Painting and Dandelion Timers are among the among the vendors at Zero K.

Cost varies – family of four package is $75, adult package is $25 and the youth package is $15 – with each ticket providing an event t-shirt, medal and five vouchers good for use at the activity booths (price for activity booth vouchers are two for $1, 12 for $5 and 25 for $10).

All proceeds will benefit GECAC’s free tutoring program and Rotary Club of Manteca Morning’s scholarship fund.
