LATHROP — The City of Lathrop is teaming up with the Love Lathrop organization to expand the annual Beautification Day event for 2012.

The combined Lathrop Beautification Day/Love Lathrop event is looking for local volunteers and groups to assist in cleaning the community.

The 2012 Beautification Day/ Love Lathrop event will take place on Saturday, April 28, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon at the Lathrop Community Center (15557 Fifth Street, Lathrop.) The Beautification Day Committee and the Love Lathrop organization hope to gather a large group of local volunteers to help with city clean-up projects as well as assisting local citizens with minor cleanup projects. The Lathrop Sunrise Rotary Club will provide breakfast treats and the Lathrop Christian Church is providing a hot and tasty free lunch to the volunteers.

Love Lathrop began out of the success of Love Modesto. Love Lathrop is a group of local volunteers dedicated to the idea that volunteers can help make our community a more beautiful and friendly place. Love Lathrop is working hand in hand with the City of Lathrop to create a stronger and bigger Lathrop Beautification Day event.
