A Tuesday night fight involving five to six males in the 1400 block of North Main Street outside the 7-Eleven store ended with the multiple stabbing of one individual.
Manteca Police officers arrived on the scene at 11:30 p.m. to find the victim and a number of witnesses to the incident gathered outside the store. Witnesses said the stabbing suspect drove off in his vehicle in an unknown direction.  The victim was conscious and alert with multiple stab wounds to his back. He provided few details to the stabbing or to the dispute that led to the assault.
Sgt. Joshua Sweeten said the victim was transported to San Joaquin County Hospital by ambulance where he was taken into surgery. He was reported to be recovering in the intensive care unit.  His wounds were not considered to be life threatening.
