Manteca Parks & Recreation is launching the city’s first ever adult flag football league this April at Northgate Park.

The Friday evening league will cost $425 a team or $75 for those who want to play as free agents. Open to those 18 and older, World Events will coordinate the league employing NFL flag football rules.

“We had a lot of requests for adult flag football and we’re thrilled to be able to offer it,” said recreation supervisor Toni Lungren.

The city is also adding an open gym basketball program at Golden West School. It will be open to youth up to age17 and will include skill instruction as well as 5-on-5 play in an instructional format.

Details on the programs are available by calling Manteca Rec at 456-8600.
