Rain or shine on Veterans Day this Sunday, veterans will be able to take advantage of the free car wash service courtesy of Francene Escobar, owner of Quicki-Kleen Car Wash in Manteca.
This service to “all military service personnel” has become a tradition at the independent-owned service station on East Yosemite Avenue, corner of Washington Street in Manteca, which was started by Escobar several years ago.
“I do it to show Quicki-Kleen’s support for our armed forces, and to reward the veterans for their service, and because I like to bless people. I get the blessing right back,” said Escobar whose own brother was killed in Vietnam.
“Thank you for serving our country!” reads the message of the flyer announcing the complimentary #1 car wash at Escobar’s neighborhood business which is a “proud participant of Grace For Vets” through which Quicki-Kleen is giving this special offer.
The complimentary car wash will be available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. Last year, 87 military personnel accepted the car wash offer.
“We got a lot of guys come here. To me, this is a blessing,” Escobar said.
She and her 17 employees are also gearing up for their annual turkey drive for the needy in Manteca during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
