Manteca council form tonight at golf course

The four candidates vying for two Manteca City Council seats are speaking and then taking questions from the public during tonight’s Manteca Republican Women’s Federation meeting at Chez Shari at 305 N. Union Road.

The meet and greet will begin at 6 p.m. with the candidates speaking at 6:30 p.m. Each candidate will speak and then there will time for questions and answers from the public. Manteca Republican Women’s Federation President Linda Silverman noted “it’s a perfect time to meet those people running for City Council and to get to know them and what their goals are.  Everyone is invited to attend.

The candidates are Sheila Raya, Debby Moorhead, Ben Cantu, and Steve DeBrum.

MANTECA UNIFIED BOARD CANDIDATES THURSDAY:

California School Employees Association (CSEA) Manteca Chapter #50 is hosting a “Meet the Candidates Night” for the MUSD Board of Education, on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event will be held in the MUSD District Office Board Rooms 101-103, located at 2271 W. Louise Avenue, Manteca. School Board Candidates will be given the opportunity to make a brief self-introduction, followed by a questions and answers period.

The public is encouraged to attend to meet and hear what the candidates have to say, plus ask and have questions answered. Light refreshments will be served.

RECEPTION FOR DEBRUM:

Twelve couples and two business concerns are hosting a reception for Manteca City Councilman Steve DeBrum on Thursday, Sept. 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Delictao Family Vineyards wine tasting room, 12001 S. Highway 99.

The cost for couple sis $160 and single guests are $100.

DeBrum is seeking re-election to a four-year term on the Manteca City Council in the Nov. 6 election.

RECEPTION FOR BERRYHILL:

A reception in support of Assemblyman Bill Berryhill and his bid to gain election to the State Senate 5th District seat is set for Thursday, Oct. 11, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Rover Islands at Lathrop, 73 W. Stewart Road, and Lathrop.

Tickets are $99 per person.
