To get two of any product for the price of one is always a bargain. But this double delight is more than just a bargain.

The San Joaquin AIDS Foundation annual garden and art tour on Sunday is being held to raise money for the nonprofit organization.

Visitors will get the best bang for their buck because not only will they get to visually enjoy the seven gardens featured in the tour plus the original work of local artists displayed in a garden setting, they also will be treated to wine tastings featuring three area wineries. All this for a $20 admission per person with children under age 12 admitted free.

Four of the featured gardens are in Manteca and one is at Weston Ranch; the remaining two are in Tracy.

“This is a beautiful opportunity!” said Dale Gray whose home and garden he co-owns with Dave Konesky in the gated Villa Terracina off Airport Way is one of those included in the tour.

Proceeds from the tour will benefit the nonprofit San Joaquin AIDS Foundation. Additionally, a percentage of all art sales during the tour will be donated to the foundation, said Gray who is the former CEO of the Central Valley Realtors Association.

Three of the gardens in the tour are located in Villa Terracina with one of them belonging to master gardener David Coates. The fourth featured garden is located in the Magna Terra neighborhood near Doctors Hospital of Manteca.

The event will be held “rain or shine” from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to “wear comfortable walking shoes.” The organizers are also asking, “no strollers, please.”

Tickets may be purchased at the following locations: Tipton’s Stationery & Gifts in Manteca; Cottage Flower Shop in Tracy; With Garden Flair, Alpine Nursery, and Serventi’s With Flair in Lincoln Center, all in Stockton. You can also call the San Joaquin AIDS Foundation at 476-8533 or send an e-mail to villaterracina@gmail.com both for tickets and further details.
