Manteca High grad promoting Lodi concert
Troy-with-Guitar
Troy Gotschall, a Manteca product and president of ROC Productions, is helping promote the July 24 concert by George Thorogood & the Destroyers in Lodi.

The world’s greatest bar band is coming to San Joaquin County.

George Thorogood & the Destroyers, known for such hits as “Bad to the Bone,” “Move it Over,” and “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,” will be performing at the Lodi Grape Bowl on July 24.

Tickets are $29 and available by logging on to www.loditickets.com.

The show is being promoted by the City of Lodi Parks & Recreation Department, the Jam Factory, and Real Opportunity Company Productions.
The president of ROC Productions is Manteca product Troy Gotschall, who is a 1984 graduate of Manteca High.

“My whole family was born and raised in Manteca,” he said via e-mail on Wednesday. “We’re all MHS grads, from my grandparents and parents to my aunts, uncles and sister.”

Even though he moved to Morada some seven years ago, Gotschall, who also attended Shasta and Lincoln schools, considers Manteca home.
“I still have a lot of family and friends there,” he added.

George Thorogood & the Destroyers have endured in the music industry, celebrating three decades.

The group reached a new plateau in 1982 when Thorogood’s “Bad to the Bone” became an instant favorite on the new video channel MTV.

The show begins at 7 p.m. – gates open at 6 o’clock – with a “special guest” serving as the opening act.
