Significant events handled by Manteca Police recently:

• MARIJUANA CULTIVATION ARREST: On Oct.18, the Street Crimes Unit concluded a narcotics investigation by serving a search warrant on Woodward Avenue in Manteca and Tracy Boulevard in Tracy. During service of this warrant, they located 183 marijuana plants, 21 pounds of processed marijuana and an illegally possessed firearm. Manpreet Singh, of Tracy, was arrested for the allegedCultivation of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana for Sale, Illegal Possession of a Firearm Due to Conviction and Driving While on a Suspended License.

• SHOTS FIRED: On Oct. 21, Officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of Hunt Road for shots fired in the area. The reporting party advised two vehicles were fleeing the area and shell casings were in the roadway. Officers arrived and found shell casings and broken glass in the roadway. No injuries were reported. Gang Suppression Unit Detectives Johnson, May and Doty responded and inspected the scene. There is no suspect information at this time and the investigation continues.
