Manteca revs up for St. Patricks Day fun

Everybody’s Irish on St. Patrick’s Day.

On Wednesday, almost a dozen Manteca area businesses will take part in the revelry that honors the Irish patron saint that is revered in his homeland for banishing all of the snakes from the isle.

Manteca’s largest St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Kelley Brothers Brewing Co. & Brickyard Oven Restaurant includes bag pipe music, traditional corned beef and cabbage, drink specials, and green beer.

Papa Joe’s BBQ and Steakhouse is even entering the mix with all-you-can-eat corned beef and cabbage – which includes fresh-baked sweet rolls – as well as $1.50 domestic drafts. Live entertainment is also scheduled to perform.

Over at The Rusty Hook on East Yosemite Avenue, free T-shirts mark the highlight of the celebration that also includes $2 green beer and $3 Irish car bombs.

And one of Manteca’s longest running St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the one at Rocko’s Sports and Spirits, begins at 6 p.m. at their 757 N. Main Street location with corned beef and cabbage. Green beer and Irish car bombs are also available on special, and music and dancing will be on hand from 8 p.m. to midnight.

Up at The Pub at 1305 N. Main Street, a traditional dinner of corned beef and cabbage will kick-off at 4 p.m. along with their traditional happy hour – featuring $1 domestic drafts and $2 imports.

Downtown Manteca’s 133 Club already held their corned beef and cabbage dinner earlier this week, but on Wednesday will have an ample supply of green beer and other drink specials. All mixed drinks that are green will be on special, and anything in a green bottle will also be on sale.
