Manteca & Ripon plan graduations, promotions

Graduation season officially kicked off Friday with the Manteca Adult School holding its special occasion at the Manteca Unified district office.
“Pomp and Circumstance” will continue next Friday, May 20, with Calla High (Calvary Community Church) and New Vision High (New Vision gymnasium, Weston Ranch) paying tribute to their graduate sclasses beginning at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, May 24, is when the pace begins to pick up at Manteca Unified with be.tech Academy holding its graduation event at the district office beginning at 7 p.m.
Several eighth-grade promotion exercises will also take place that day, including Great Valley (10 a.m. / cafeteria), Lathrop Elementary (10 a.m. / multi-purpose building), Joshua Cowell (2 p.m. / courtyard), Sequoia (4:30 p.m. / Manteca High gymnasium), Golden West (6 p.m. / multi-purpose building), New Haven (6 p.m. / Stella Brockman), Veritas (6 p.m. / multi-purpose building), Neil Hafley (7 p.m. / courtyard), and  Shasta (7 p.m. / MHS gym).
On Wednesday, May 25, the eighth-grade events continue with George Komure (10 a.m. / gym), August Knodt (11:30 a.m. / gym), Joseph Widmer (10 a.m. / Multi-Purpose Room), Lincoln (4:30 p.m. / MHS gym), McParland (6 p.m. / courtyard), Brock Elliott (7 p.m. / Sierra High gym), French Camp (7 p.m. / gym), Mossdale (7 p.m. / gym), Stella Brockman (7 p.m. / gym), Woodward (7 p.m. / gym), and Nile Garden (7:30 p.m. / courtyard).
The MUSD comprehensive high schools will have their commencement exercises at the tail end of the week.
East Union (7 p.m. / Dino Cunial Field) and Weston Ranch (7 p.m. / WRHS stadium) will honor their respective Class of 2016 on Thursday, May 26, while Lathrop High (7 p.m. / Bennie Gatto Field at Paul Wiggins Stadium), MHS (7 p.m. / Guss Schmiedt Field) and Sierra (7 p.m. / Daniel Teicheira Memorial Stadium) will do likewise on Friday, May 27.

Ripon Unified
Ripon High will conduct its annual commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 27, at Stouffer Field beginning at 7 p.m.
This will conclude a busy graduation week for RUSD.
On Wednesday, May 25, the “Pomp and Circumstance) will kick off at Harvest High as students at the alternative education site will receive their diplomas during the noon time event.
Later that day, eighth-grade students at Colony Oak will be recognized in the school multi-purpose room.
The eighth-grade promotion ceremonies will continue on Thursday, May 26, with students at Ripona (6:30 p.m.), Weston (6:30 p.m.), and Ripon Elementary (7 p.m. / RHS Multi-Purpose Room) being honored.
