RIPON — Marissa’s Closet, that provides prom dresses for teens, has been named one of the non-profits that will benefit from Macy’s annual Shop For A Cause Day through the end of August.

Marissa’s Closet owner Melinda Shaw explained that the nationally known store is offering 25 percent off regular, sale and clearance merchandise throughout the store. In addition Macy’s is offering 10 percent off furniture, mattresses and area rugs.

Shaw said shoppers will need a pass to participate in the sale at any Macy’s Department Store through Aug. 27. In Ripon the $5 passes may be purchased at Jake’s Coffee, Tea and Sandwich Shop at the corner of Main Street and Wilma Avenue.

The proceeds from the $5 passes will go to benefit Marissa’s Closet, Shaw said.
